New Columbia River Bridge, No Light Rail
Honesty
Education
We need leadership in Olympia.  A new bridge over the Columbia river, no light
rail.

My name is Jon Haugen,  I was born in Portland, attended the U.S. Naval
Academy and live in Vancouver.
None of the proposals meet the requirements of this region.  Spending $6 Billion
dollars to replace six lanes of traffic with six lanes of traffic is a waste of time
and money.
Look outside our region for a new answer.  Missouri and Illinois are building a
bridge over the Mississippi.  Look at their efforts.
I endorse an express via-duct from SR 500 in Vancouver to I-405 in Portland
with no other exits.  Leave the current bridges alone.
Mass Transit:  I endorse an idea from Toronto Canada.  Use heavy rail instead
of costly light rail.  A commuter train from Kelso to Portland with stops in
Kalama, Ridgefield, Hazel Dell and Vancouver.
Thank you.

Ease traffic on Mill Plain and Salmon Creek with stop light timing.  Salt Lake
City faced a similar problem and used technology to improve transit.  I have
been in contact with Utah transit.

Ease traffic on State Highway 14.  Simple use of new paint stripping would
increase capacity without any structural changes.

No casino in Clark County.  Traffic would increase adding to pollution,
congestion and delay.
